Mobile WebDriver Testing

You can perform object-based testing of apps on Android and iOS devices with Eggplant Functional using WebDriver. You use mobile WebDriver commands and functions to define these tests.

iOS Testing Setup

WebDriver testing of iOS devices requires iOS Gateway 5.1.2 or later, and only can be done using a Mac. After you install and launch iOS Gateway, plug in the iOS device you want to test, start automation, then create a connection using mobile WebDriver commands and functions in Eggplant Functional.

Android Testing Setup

WebDriver testing of Android devices can be done on both Windows and Mac systems using Android Gateway 5.4 and later. After you install and launch Android Gateway, plug in the device you want to test. When Android Gateway begins automation, you can create a connection using mobile WebDriver commands and functions in Eggplant Functional and perform your tests.

Note: WebDriver functionality requires Android 5.0 (API level 21) and later on the device being tested.
