Installation Overview

The two main ways you can run Eggplant Studio are as follows:

  • On your desktop, as an extension for a locally installed version of Visual Studio (VS) Code

  • In a cloud, as a Coder workspace that contains Eggplant Studio and VS Code

The way you set up these two types of installations varies. Links for where to go for the information you need are provided below.

But before you do either, see the Prerequisites page for the system and software requirements and recommendations you will need.

Installing Eggplant Studio as a VS Code Plugin on a Desktop

If you are a test developer and want to run Eggplant Studio in VS Code on your desktop, see Installing Eggplant Studio as a VS Code Extension.

Deploying Eggplant Studio in a Hosted (Cloud) Environment

You can deploy Eggplant Studio in the cloud as a hosted application at your site, making it accessible to multiple users without requiring individual desktop installations. To make it easier to deploy Eggplant Studio in the cloud, Keysight provides a reference architecture, which is based on the Coder application. Therefore, deploying Eggplant Studio in the cloud requires the assistance of a system administrator or developer familiar with Coder. See Deploying Eggplant Studio in the Cloud .
