Prerequisites
As described in the Installation Overview two main ways you can run Eggplant Studio are as follows:
-
On your desktop, as an extension for a locally installed version of Visual Studio (VS) Code
-
In a cloud, as a Coder workspace that contains Eggplant Studio and VS Code
These installation options have different requirements, both of which are described below.
Software Recommendations for Eggplant Studio Installed on a Desktop
Before you install Eggplant Studio, you need to verify that your system meets the minimum requirements and, for best results, the recommendations listed below.
| Software | Version | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Visual Studio Code (VS Code) | 1.88 or the latest stable version. | The capability to drag a SUT to a new window is available in VS Code 1.88. Before you can use Eggplant Studio, you will need to install VS Code. |
| Eggplant Functional (EPF) | 23.2.0 or later | To be able to run and debug your scripts in Eggplant Studio, you must install EPF. See Getting Started with Eggplant Functional for more information about Eggplant Functional, including supported OS and system recommendations. |
Software Recommendations for Eggplant Studio Cloud Deployments
Deploying Eggplant Studio in a cloud environment requires knowledge of Coder. If you do not already have a Coder environment set up at your site, we recommend working with a developer or system administrator who is familiar with Coder to ensure a successful deployment.
See Prerequisites on the Deploying Eggplant Studio in Hosted Coder Environment for specific information about cloud deployments.
