Import Files and Generate a Requirements Collection

When you click Import, Eggplant Generator does not simply import your document, it also begins the process of creating your collection by aggregating your imported documents, querying the specified context files, and extracting information from them to generate your assets. Eggplant Generator reports the status of the import and asset generation on the Collections page.

1. Click Import to start creating the collection and generating assets. This process can take some time. You may want to do other tasks while you wait for your collection to be created. When the Collection page displays again, your new collection should be in the list.

   Collections are queued for processing. If other collections are in-progress or queued for processing when you import yours, yours waits for the other collection or collections to process before Eggplant Generator starts processing yours.

2. Locate your new collection. Note that you may need to scroll to find it or search for it by name if the list of collections is long. Next to your collection's name, you may see the status In progress followed by an estimated time for the collection creation process to take. The time estimate usually decreases from the initial estimate. But the amount it time it takes at your site will depend on your system configuration.

3. When you see the status Generated with a green check mark, your import process is complete.
