Integration with HPE Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
Eggplant enables you to incorporate Eggplant Functional into the HPE ALM tool with Eggplant Integrations for HPE ALM. This integration tool is a web application that uploads your tests and results to the HPE ALM server. You can run Eggplant Functional tests from either Eggplant Functional or HPE ALM, and the integration automatically uploads those tests and results to HPE ALM. This integration gives you the benefits of being able to store and view your tests and results in one convenient location, HPE ALM.
The Eggplant Integrations for HPE ALM Workflow
The diagram below shows how Eggplant Integrations for HPE ALM works.
- With Eggplant Integrations for HPE ALM, testers can run tests in either of the following ways:
- By logging in to HPE ALM and starting a test run. In this case, HPE ALM starts Eggplant Functional via the command line.
- By running Eggplant Functional and starting a test run.
- Eggplant Functional runs the test on the system under test (SUT).
- Eggplant Functional uploads the test results to Eggplant Integrations for HPE ALM using the HTTP protocol.
- The Eggplant Integrations for HPE ALM integration uploads the test results to the HPE ALM server via HPE ALM's Open Test Architecture (OTA) API.
Note: For information about HPE's Open Test Architecture (OTA), refer to the HPE documentation.
- The results are available to view in HPE ALM.
