Why do I see windows inside of windows?

When you see the effect pictured below, you are seeing what we call the "hall of mirrors" effect. This is what happens when the Eggplant Functional controller connects to itself as the system under test (SUT). It is looking back on itself through the Viewer window connection, ad infinitum.

An example of the "hall of mirrors" effect

Eggplant Functional uses a two-system model, which means that two systems are required for testing. This model means that you cannot use the same system that Eggplant Functional is running on as the SUT. If you are interested in using the same physical machine as both the Eggplant Functional controller and the SUT, there are ways around this problem. For more information, see Single Machine Testing.

For more information about using the Viewer window, see The Viewer Window.
