Global Variable Data Sources in Eggplant Performance

In Eggplant Performance Studio, a global variable, also called an in-line data dictionary, consists of a list of one or more pairs of key/value entries similar to a data dictionary file source. However, the key/value pairs are not stored in a specified file but are, in fact, stored as properties of the test. They are, therefore, specific to a test and so cannot be shared across tests.

Global variable keys can be used to override the values of similar named keys within both data dictionary file sources and data table file sources. This enables the behavior of virtual users to be temporarily altered without changing the entries within associated data source files.

For instructions on how to work with global variable items, see Using Global Variables in Eggplant Performance Tests.
