Troubleshooting
This page provides system under test (SUT) connection troubleshooting suggestions.
VNC & RDP Type Connections
If your attempt to connect to a SUT using either the VNC or RDP connection types fails, try the following things:
- Check that you are able to connect to the SUT without using Eggplant Functional. For example, if you are trying to make an RDP connection, verify that you can connect to the SUT using the MS RDP client running on the same machine with the Eggplant Functional.
- Use the IP address for the Server Name parameter instead of hostname for the SUT.
- Add the domain name in front of the username if the machine is in a domain.
Single System Type Connections
The Single System connection type is only avalaible on Windows. You can make single-system connections on Mac or linux, but those methods use the operating-system. Eggplant does not provide a connection type for single system connections on Mac or linux.
Gateway Error: The connection transport layer failed. Security negotiation is set to false [default: true]. Please revise the settings' value
If you see the above error when you attempt to make a connection using the Single System connection type, try the following things:
-
Double-check the username, domain, and password (MYDOMAIN\Username). For example,
Keysight\jsmith -
If the error still occurs, leave the Username and Password fields empty. This should connect to the child session and display the Windows login screen in the SUT Viewer window. Note that it may display with the username and password filled in if there have been previous logins.
